    Zelenskyy Dismisses Putin’s Moscow Invitation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected Vladimir Putin’s proposal to meet in Moscow, labeling the idea unrealistic. He told ABC News that Ukraine faces constant missile strikes and cannot negotiate in the Russian capital. “I can’t go to the capital of this terrorist,” Zelenskyy said. Instead, he urged Putin to travel to Kyiv if he truly wanted dialogue.

    Trump Pushes for Direct Negotiations

US President Donald Trump has pressed for face-to-face talks between Zelenskyy and Putin. He considered a bilateral or trilateral meeting one of his main goals during his Alaska summit with Putin. Trump later claimed the two leaders would meet after Zelenskyy visits Washington and consults with European leaders. However, Moscow added new conditions while escalating attacks on Ukrainian cities. Putin recently said he was “ready” for talks in Moscow, and Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov insisted the invitation aimed “to talk, not to capitulate.” Speaking in Paris, Zelenskyy argued that inviting him to Moscow only signaled Russia’s lack of sincerity.

    Escalating Strikes and Zelenskyy’s Demands

Zelenskyy announced on Saturday that Russia launched over 1,300 drones, nearly 900 guided bombs, and 50 missiles in early September. He confirmed the attacks struck 14 regions across Ukraine. He accused Russia of prolonging the war and “turning diplomacy into a blatant farce.” Zelenskyy demanded a united international response, including stronger sanctions on Moscow. He also called for increased arms deliveries and tighter restrictions on Russian oil and gas exports.
