    Demonstrations Fill London Thoroughfares
Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets of central London on September 17, 2025, to oppose U.S. President Donald Trump’s return for a state visit. Led by the Stop Trump Coalition, protesters included environmental advocates, anti-racism activists, and supporters of Palestinian causes. Marching from Portland Place to Parliament Square, participants carried banners, waved flags, and voiced opposition to Trump’s policies, while police ensured the event remained orderly and largely nonviolent.

    Protests and Arrests in Windsor
Smaller groups gathered in Windsor, where Trump received a formal welcome from King Charles III. Activists projected images linking Trump to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein onto Windsor Castle, resulting in four arrests on charges of malicious communications. In addition, two individuals were detained for other protest-related activities, underscoring the heightened tensions accompanying the royal reception.

    Britain Remains Divided on Visit
The UK public holds mixed views on Trump’s state visit. A recent YouGov survey indicated that 45% opposed the invitation, while 30% supported it. Critics contend that hosting Trump sends the wrong message about democratic values and human rights, whereas supporters argue it offers an opportunity to reinforce U.S.-UK diplomatic relations. The demonstrations reflect ongoing debate and concern over Trump’s policies and their global impact.
